Recording Studio Electrical and Lighting
When designing your electrical and lighting systems for your recording studio, here are some things to consider:
1) Make sure you have isolated circuits “ dedicated” with an isolated ground for recording gear, amplifiers and musical instruments.
2) The lighting should be designed with fixtures that are surface mount rather than recessed (LED bulbs create little to no heat).
Having your recording equipment I.E. computers, mixing boards, pre-amps etc. on a separate dedicated circuit will ensure that you do not get interference on your recordings. Having an isolated ground will also ensure a clean sound. I also like to provide dedicated circuits for amplifiers and music equipment. This also ensures a clean electric source for your equipment.
Track Lights With LED Bulbs
LED bulbs have come a long way over the past 10 years. Not only is the light very bright and sharp but you also will save on your cooling bills as these type of bulbs do not create heat. The track type fixture is a great way to pin point, spot and flood light in the areas you want it. An added feature is also that they are very easy to seal with regards to electrical penetrations through your ceiling. I hope this helps. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your project.
