IMPROVE YOUR HOME’S CURB APPEAL

Repaint the exterior: It’s amazing what a new coat of paint will do to make your tired home
look completely refreshed. There are some beautiful and adventurous color choices now for
home exteriors.

Paint the front door: It’s become a popular trend to paint your front door a bold and bright
color. Explore online to get some ideas of what could be a fun new color choice for your
entrance.

New hardware, light fixtures etc.: Upgrading your house numbers, front door hardware and
new light fixtures, all coordinated to each other in style and metal, can be a surprisingly good
improvement.

New mailbox: Mailboxes take a lot of abuse and wear, and yours could likely need replacing.
Consider planting a small sweet garden around your mailbox to dress it up.
Add shutters and/or accent trim: Both of these additions to your home can really make it pop.
Again, have fun with the colors.

Replace gutters and downspouts: Gutters do wear out, and as well as looking bad, not even
function all that well anymore. Copper gutters and downspouts are more expensive but worth
the extra cost, as they last longer and look beautiful.

Upgrade porch and stoop railings: There are a lot of materials these days that can be used to
upgrade or replace your railings, including wood, metal, iron and more. Don’t discount the
safety factor too, especially when replacing older worn-out stairs and railings.

Upgrade your front steps and porch: Laying down tile, new concrete or even simply repainting
your tired steps and porch will help so much. And there’s nothing more charming than a front
porch with some comfy chairs, cushions, a colorful rug, a few containers of plants and an end
table where you can enjoy coffee with a friend.

Upgrade your garage door: It’s pretty dramatic what this simple fix will do to improve the look
of your home.

Make the walkway to your front door more interesting: Let the path to the entrance of your
home meander, with decorative rocks, some statuary, plants and a container garden.
These are just a few ways you can spruce up your home’s curb appeal, which is very helpful if
you are trying to sell your house, but also just a great way to enjoy your home even more!
